Acting professionally since 1974, thought my SAG CARD was going to come working as an extra. Hooked up with a TV show in San Diego, CA. The show was called "MOVIN ON" starring Claude Akins and Frank Converse. Worked as a stand-in and double for Claude. We moved on alright, traveled with them to San Francisco, at my own expense, where I found I was getting $25.00 per day and had to go through an agent and pay them 10%. Still haven't figured out how that worked! It was an enjoyable experience, met plenty of nice people, worked with some "Names" of the day and learned about "Making Magic".
Well, "Movin On" was movin on up north and I couldn't afford to follow. Didn't get my union card but did get a wealth of experience and memories. Headed back to San Diego where a Dodge Commercial came along within three months and the SAG CARD came easier than expected. That's when I met Sal Dano, he was in his last year of coaching in San Diego and was only going to coach in his LA studio. He encouraged me to make the move. That was a scary proposition, after seeing his studio where he was coaching the likes of Marta DuBois,Tom Selleck, Robert Hays, Priscilla Barnes and others. Felt it was way out of my league, but took the plunge. Enjoyed a modicum of success until 1987 when a combo of alcohol and drugs started dragging me away from the work. Been clean and sober since! That's another story, if you want to know just ask.
I now reside in the Bay Area (Stockton? Bay Area?). Very few Acting opportunities here, and as one ages fewer and fewer. Recently did one day on a feature "BOTTLE SHOCK", a Internet Commercial for Palm called "AY CARAMBA", 20/20 VISION for PG&E, and a POSTMAN for YAHOO. Included here you'll find some Industry links, a resume' with streamed clips attached.
I am also a Computer Tech , see the link.
